What types services are offered at the Hub?
Our goal is to provide a range of services that move each individual forward on their unique personal and professional development journey. Many services are available every Wednesday, including resume job search assistance, resume writing workshops, interview preparation, job training enabled through virtual reality and access to the DWA's comprehensive job posting and career development tools.
These regular service offerings will be complemented by additional services and programs provided by an ever-growing number of community service partners from organizations located across the Durham Region. Is there a cost to access programs and services offered at the Hub?
There is no cost to participate in any program or access any service offered at the Hub. Whether you are coming in for assistance in your job search, seeking guidance on accessing a community program, or just dropping in for a cup of coffee and a bite to eat, our team will go out of their way to welcome you and provide an environment where you feel comfortable and valued.
How can my organization get involved?
While other services might provide help or temporary solutions, Lakeview Hub is focused on empowering individuals. This means giving people the tools, skills, and support they need to take control of their lives and achieve lasting change rather than just addressing immediate needs. If your organization is interested in contributing to the Hub, please reach out to our team through the contact page, and we will get back to you promptly to discuss how we might work together to support and empower the Lakeview neighbourhood.
When is the Hub Open?
The Lakeview Hub currently operates every Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. out of the Harman Park clubhouse located at 799 Douglas St. in Oshawa.
